Production volumes greatly increased

Dr. Schumacher GmbH is one of the most important manufacturers of wet wipes worldwide and supplies customers far beyond Europe’s borders with ready-to-use wipes, masks and pads for a range of different uses. The company provides products for baby care, cosmetics, personal care and household use as well as for disinfection and cleaning.

Steady growth in order numbers motivated the company to construct a new production facility in Lubań, Poland, which was opened with much celebration in February 2016. Dr. Schumacher will set new standards for the production of ready-to-use wipes at this new facility.

The plant buildings in the ultra-modern production centre cover an area of 50,000 m². Each year more than 250 million packages will be produced across more than 50 different production lines for manufacturing dry and wet wipes, masks and pads. The facility currently produces up to 1,500 pallets a day with all processes reliably and transparently controlled by SAP.

So that customers can be offered custom solutions, the company has integrated a high degree of flexibility into its processes. When required, new machine capacity can be provided, even at short notice, and existing production facilities can be tailored to customers’ needs.
